The Best Year

Goodness, I’m not sure where to begin when I think about this past year. 2015 was a whirlwind but was really great! So many opportunities, changes, and blessings have happened all in the course of 1 year. That much can happen in just a year?!

2015 started off with my boyfriend, Trenton, and I first starting to get to know each other. I don’t know what I would have done without him this past year. He is what made it the most memorable and the best year of my life. He is my greatest blessing. I look forward to another year with him.

A few months later, I performed my last musical in high school-Cinderella. It was great to be able to perform on stage doing something I love with my friends. When you join musical, you gain a family.  A couple months later, I also performed my last choir concert with some of the same friends from musical. The same month, I graduated from high school. I must admit, I don’t miss it that much. I just miss some of the experiences that came with it-choir, musical, walking the halls and eating lunch with Trenton, and days when you don’t have homework. Really…don’t take for granted the little amount of homework you have in high school….it won’t come again once you start college.

During the summer, I did my last year of 4-H and my last year in the National American Miss (NAM) pageant. 4-H had been a part of my life for 10 years and I admit, it will be strange not having to go to the county fair every day this coming summer. I was only a part of NAM for 3 years, but those 3 years changed me. Through NAM I gained confidence and life-long skills.

August was a busyyyyy and nerve-wracking month. I got to see my favorite singer, Alison Krauss (AHHHHHHH)! And I started college! I was so so nervous and I still am about next semester. But having one semester down I know I can conquer the next one(s). College brought new people into my life and I hope to gain life long friendships in 2016.

2015 was such a good year it makes me excited to see what 2016 will hold! God blessed me so much this past year, I can’t wait to see what else he’ll bless me with.

Ready for a new year,

Ciara
