Gluten Free Food Allergy Fest: Indy 2016

Hey everyone!

So sorry I haven’t posted in so long, college has been hectic. But, I am excited to share this blog post with you all!

Last weekend, I was able to go to the Gluten Free Food Allergy Fest in Indianapolis! My family and I have gone in the past but we hadn’t been able to the last couple years so I was very excited to go again. Also, a friend of mine from college who is also gluten intolerant was able to go for the first time!

The Gluten Free Food Allergy Fest is this huge expo with a little under 100 different booths. Booths can range from food companies, cosmetics, doctors, etc. When you go, be ready for a lot of information and a lot of free samples! You won’t leave hungry, that’s for sure!

There’s also a schedule of lectures and demonstrations going on as well. In previous years when we went, Dr. Fasano was giving a lecture. He is the leading doctor in Celiac Disease. If you ever get the chance to hear him speak, do it. He is very knowledgeable and has a lot of good information to hear.

Also, the last time we went we were able to meet Jules Shephard! Jules has her own gluten free company and we get our flour from her. It was so neat meeting her! She was there again this year and gave two demonstrations on gluten free pizza and coconut bliss overnight oats.

This year’s Gluten Free Food Allergy Fest was sponsored by Enjoy Life, one of my favorite gluten free allergen free companies.

Here is all I left with from the expo! Most of it was free, but I did end up purchasing a product as well.

I decided to share with you all my top brands from the Gluten Free Food Allergy Fest!

First is, of course, Enjoy Life. All of their products are gluten free and free of the top 8 allergens so everyone can enjoy! I’ve tried several of their products before, like their cookies, chocolate bars, and chocolate chips. I’ve also tried the S’mores bars shown below. These are a nice snack to carry with you. The cookies shown are also good to carry with you. They aren’t super hard cookies either which is nice!

I’m sure you all have heard of Udi’s brand before. They have some pretty good products but not all are dairy free. Their muffins and cinnamon rolls are, but their cookies are not. I was able to spin a wheel and win these tortilla wraps shown below. I’ve had them before and I have to say they’re my favorite wraps. I like them most warmed, they also hold together better when you warm them. They’re probably the closest thing to a “regular” tortilla wrap.

Buddy’s was a brand new company at the expo. All of their products are free of gluten, nuts, eggs, soy, dairy, wheat, peanuts, and corn syrup. I’ve very excited to try the product I got from them! It’s their “Very Vanilla” Buddy Cake and includes two packages of a mix and icing. You can make it in the microwave in a mug just by adding oil and water. It only takes a minute! I intend on writing a review about this one!

The last brand I liked was Pure Haven Essentials. They have products for both men and women. I was able to try a sample of two of their lotions. I believe one is a peppermint scent and the other is holiday spice. I really liked the holiday spice in a sugar scrub that they had available at the expo. I would definitely suggest checking out their products.

Have you been before? I’d love to hear about your experience!
