Start your week off RIGHTeous: Week 9

Hi everyone! I hope your Monday has been good! The weather was great today! I actually didn’t have to wear snow boots and a winter coat! That was a great start to my day!

For this week’s bible verse I chose 1 Peter 1: 8-9.

“Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.”

I felt like this verse really defined what faith is. Although we can’t see God, we love and believe in him. It says, “even though you do not see him now…”-right now we can’t see God, but if we have faith and believe we will get to see him in Heaven.

I also like how it says, “filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy.” The bible makes words sound so perfect together. That phrase just sounds so delightful to me 🙂 Sometimes when you get this overwhelming feeling for the Lord and you just can’t quite put your finger on what that feeling is, it’s an inexpressible and glorious feeling of joy 🙂

This verse also tells us what the result of our faith will be, the salvation of our soul. It doesn’t say you have to have this amount of faith. Even faith the size of a mustard seed will give you the salvation of your soul! Wow. Pretty powerful stuff.

The reading in my prayer journal today was 1 Peter 1:3-12. I decided to just do these two verses but the whole passage is great.

And remember, you can’t go anywhere without a little faith.
