I’m excited to be sharing with you all a fashion segment that will be going on this summer here on Faith, Fashion, Food with C! I’ll be posting different outfits that involve vintage dresses! My fashion varies from bright colors to classic styles, but I’ve always had a heart for vintage.
The first vintage inspired post includes a dress that was actually my mom’s graduation dress from ’81. Now I know this may not be considered “vintage” because of the time it is from, but comparing their style to today’s, much has changed. It’s a below the knee white cotton dress with an eyelet collar and pocket…adorable!
I love the style of this dress, how it’s the perfect modest length, cinches at the waist and ties at the shoulders.
To enhance the vintage flair, I added a straw floppy hat, Born Concept white wedges, a spoon ring, and this vintage Gucci scarf. This scarf has been my favorite recently, it’s perfect to add just a touch of vintage and floral to any summer outfit. Also, I didn’t even realize this scarf was Gucci brand when I got it…I’m pretty sure I got it several years ago from some antique shop for like $5 🙂
When shooting my vintage inspired photos, I went with a pretty simple makeup look. Bright cheeks, brown-toned eyes, and Mauve Me lipstick by Red Apple Lipstick.
I was able to find some alternatives that are similar to the pieces I am wearing and I’ve linked them below. Since the dress and scarf are both vintage, the pieces I found are similar or what I thought were good alternatives. It’s hard to find vintage inspired dresses that don’t cost an arm and a leg, but none the less, I went and linked 3 different alternatives. I would also check out Cactus Flower located in Bloomington, IN. They are a vintage inspired boutique and have ADORABLE clothing!
