Gluten Free Angel Food Cake: Aldi Live GFree Product Review

I enjoy baking, although I usually don’t bake desserts from scratch/homemade. I want to share more cooking and recipes on the blog so hopefully I’ll be able to experiment with some homemade goodies πŸ™‚ But for now, I’m sharing Aldi’s Live GFree Angel Food Cake mix. My family shops at Aldi quite a bit because most all of their products are labeled gluten free and lactose free, along with having their Live GFree line of products. Since it’s Celiac Awareness Month, they release special products only during the month of May. Today I baked their angel food cake mix. It is easy to make and taste just like a “regular” (gluten) angel food cake!

*This was not sponsored by Aldi– I just love their gluten free products and want to share them with you all πŸ™‚

The directions are simple and it doesn’t take long to make at all. Since it uses 12 egg whites, we used the egg white beaters from Aldi. Do not oil the pan- the directions do not say to. You want the angel food cake to “climb up” the sides like a regular gluten angel food cake.

While the angel food cake is baking, be sure to check on it while it’s in the oven. It will get pretty high up and look like it will overflow, although ours did not. You will need to loosen the sides, so a rubber spatula works well.

This is what the cake looked like after it was taken out of the pan and turned upside down.
