Start your week off RIGHTeous: Week 12

Hey there! I hope you had a great weekend! I was able to go to the fashion show on campus Saturday and then studied the rest of the weekend. The semester is starting to come to a close (thank goodness) and things are starting to get busier.

For this week’s bible verse I chose Romans 1: 16

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes.”

We have no reason to be ashamed of being a Christian and for believing. God’s promise is nothing to be ashamed of. We should want to share it with everyone we know! I have noticed before that while I’m having lunch with someone who may not be a fellow believer, I don’t take the time to silently say grace. And I don’t think it’s because I’m ashamed of being a Christian, I’m not. I think it’s more of I don’t want the other person to feel uncomfortable. But I have to remind myself that they should be accepting of my belief. I usually pray before every meal whether it’s with my family, by myself at the dining court, or when I eat with cru (a worship group on campus). Why then, under a different circumstance do I feel like it’s ok not to?

I’m sure other’s have been guilty of the same thing and it’s good to know that I’m not alone. But I, we, should make an effort to always pray before meals and to never make it look like we’re ashamed of the gospel. It’s the greatest story of all.

You can’t go anywhere without a little faith,
