Hi everyone! You may remember this post, My Insight on Essential Oils I wrote a while back about Young Living, why I purchased a premium starter kit, research articles about essential oils, and what oils I use.
Since then, I’ve been doing more research and have decided I want to join the business side of Young Living!
I started following a Registered Dietitian who uses and sells Young Living on Instagram (follow her @naturallysarahgrace). She hosted a zoom class a few weeks ago where she talked about balancing your hormones, what oils can help with hormone support, and how synthetic fragrances can wreck your endocrine system and even be known carcinogens. This really got me thinking about all the products I use on a daily basis: shampoo, body wash, face scrub, toothpaste, moisturizer, toner, household cleaners, candles, and so many more.
I’ve had systemic health issues most of my life. If this is supposed to be the peak of my health (I’m 23), then I still have a long ways to go. I want to start being more conscious about not only what I put in my body nutritionally, but also what I put on it on a daily basis. I’m in the process of doing a “ditch and switch” where essentially you ditch products that contain synthetic fragrances and switch them with products that are “clean.” Now, I’m not saying this is going to cure my health issues or anything, but I do think it can do some good. I am excited to start using more clean products and Young Living and see how this affects my overall health. Because of this I decided to join the business side of Young Living to make the “ditch and switch” a smoother transition, and to hopefully bless us financially while we are on this journey.
I encourage you all to do your research on the products you’re using, the app ThinkDirty is a great resource that allows you to search/scan the products you’re using and it will give a rating of how “clean” or “dirty” the product is, along with details about the ingredients in them. The face scrub I have been using for who knows how many years was a 9/10 on the scale, and contains an ingredient that could be an endocrine disruptor.
Let me know if you have any questions at all about Young Living and essential oils! I know the starter kit is a big investment upfront at $165, but it truly is worth it (coming from a girl with a husband in grad school & applying to grad school herself).
I am now more passionate than I ever thought I would be about Young Living, and want to share that with others! And remember, I was a huge skeptic to begin with 🙂
Sincerely,
Ciara
